been very busy lately

Charlie had a stent put in his heart on 4-22. We have had many dr appointment between him and my MIL that is having cataract surgery on 6-2. Since Charlie's stroke he has trouble with speech so I am now her patient rep. My older son got out of prison on the 25th and we spent 2 days driving him to his PO and other appointments. I tatted doilies for both my mom and MIL for Mother's Day and have done lots of other tatting waiting at all the appointments.

My first blog post

My name is Rachael. I am married as of Nov 7th last year. I have 4 children(from my first marriage) and 2 grandchildren. I have Lupus and no longer work. When I feel up to it I do a lot of crafts and I am addicted to thread. Oh yes I said thread. I love anything that has to do with thread be it tatting, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, swedish weaving or hardanger. I also make miniature teddy bears, 2 1/4 inches tall and fully jointed.
I have won first place ribbons from the Arizona State Fair for my cross stitch, swedish weaving, hardanger and miniature teddy bears. I have won the big rosette ribbons from the Desert Threaders-local Embroidery Guild of America for my cross stitch, swedish weaving and hardanger. My swedish weaving also won the third place ribbon from the Phoenix Needlework Show.

Recently my favorite thread craft is tatting. I learned needle tatting first and then moved on to learn shuttle tatting. Here are some pics of my most recent tatting projects:
